About
Hello, I’m Andrea Orduna. I graduated in the Spring of 2022 with an associate of applied science in graphic design. Although I'm open to exploring various career paths, my primary goal is to pursue graphic design for the music and creative industry. Despite facing challenges along the way, I refused to let them stand in the way of achieving my career aspirations. Since 2017, I've been immersed in the design world, continually designing to innovate and pushing boundaries. My work has been published twice in the Talon magazine. Previously, I was one of the co-founders of The x-height Networking group and worked for The Core Collaborative. Currently, I work as a freelance graphic designer, continuously refining my process as I gain more knowledge and experience. I am determined and enthusiastic about gaining further experience in the graphic design field and look forward to new opportunities for growth. Process
RESEARCH
&
INSPIRATION
I engage with clients, asking insightful questions to guide the design process towards their desired results. By understanding the purpose and values of the design, I begin researching and seeking inspiration. Factors such as the client's competitors and target audience are carefully considered. To ensure alignment with the client's identity and needs, I create mood boards and review past designs from their brand.
SKETCH CONCEPT
Planning a design is always better when I visualize my options on paper. These various ideas give me more guidance as to the space and graphics I would like to apply.
DESIGN
I utilize various design programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, depending on the project's direction. Providing multiple design options is a common approach, allowing clients to have choices. Sometimes, the options may differ in minor details that create a meaningful impact.
CRITIQUE
I seek feedback from fellow designers and occasionally even involve the target audience to gather both positive and negative reactions. The final feedback comes from the clients themselves. I carefully note down their requested changes and consider creative solutions, whether they involve major revisions or minor adjustments.
REVISE
Implementing feedback can sometimes be challenging, but it's always worth pursuing. I incorporate the feedback into the design, seeking creative solutions that align with the project's objectives and bring satisfaction to both the client and their audience.
FINAL
The project progresses to this stage only after completing all revisions and incorporating feedback. Multiple feedback and revision meetings may be necessary to ensure client satisfaction and resonance with the target audience. Once these steps are finalized, I deliver the final file to the client. Witnessing the journey from the initial concept to the ultimate outcome is truly gratifying. It brings me immense joy to transform a client's vision into reality and share it with the world.
